Gator love!
This past weekend has to have been the best weekend I have had since I moved to Florida! Friday afternoon after a long day at work (it always seems much longer while Fasting), I headed down to Miami to stay with the wonderful Rezaie family. After breaking Fast on Friday night, Munib and May took me to the dance studio where they have been taking lessons for a while now. It was wonderful because the theme that night was "Wedding Essentials"...so hopefully I have learned SOMETHING for my wedding! After staying up very late on Friday night, we got up VERY early to make it to Denny's to have some breakfast before beginning Fast on Saturday. I slept in (which I hadn't done in a long time) and when May and Munib came back from their very first Tutor Gathering in the Miami-Dade cluster (yea!), we quickly headed to a little place called GATOR LAND!! I think the pictures can speak for themselves as far as the size of the gators are concerned...but what they can't explain is the amazing airboat tour guide that we had! His picture is above with May, Munib, and I. His name is Glenn Wilsey, and he has a true passion for his work (I have no doubt that Chase and he, whenever they meet, will be friends instantaneously). He has lived near the Everglades all his life and has been swimming with the alligators since he was young (he kissed his first gator at the age of 12...no lie). We were so blessed to have him as our tour guide (we actually got to step out of the boat and stand in the water of the Everglades...which I thought I would NEVER do) and I encourage you all to visit his website...www.aaof.us . I will keep this link on my blog for anyone who wants to come back and find it quickly. And if that wasn't enough for the weekend...I got to eat my fill of Persian cuisine!
